Students decorate new teen space at Canajoharie Library

April, 2011

NBT bank recently donated $200 to the Canajoharie High School Band for its trip on May 20 to take part in the "Music in the Parks" competition. To raise money so that all students can attend the trip, the band has had several fundraisers including selling cookie dough, a spaghetti dinner at the Elephant Bistro, and a McDonald's night. Ticket prices for the trip are $327 for each person.

"The band has been working all year preparing the music for the festival in which schools from all over the Northeast will be participating in. We are ready to perform at a very high level," said music teacher Tim Field.

"I am so proud of the hard work that all the students have put into lessons and rehearsals all year. It is wonderful to see the community come out and support our efforts. I can't thank everyone enough for their donations and encouragement that they have shown at our concerts and fundraisers."
