September, 2010

Canajoharie High School Principal David E. Barnes announced that Nathan Brody has been named a Commended Student in the 2011 National Merit Scholarship Program. Mr. Barnes presented Nathan with a letter of commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation which conducts the program.

The Commended Students honors about 34,000 students for their exceptional academic promise. They rank among the top five percent of the more than 1.5 million students who took the 2009 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

"Recognizing high-achieving students is essential to advancing educational excellence in our school and our nation," said Mr. Barnes. "Nathan demonstrated outstanding academic performance in this highly competitive program. We hope this recognition will enhance his educational opportunities and encourage him in his pursuit of academic success.
