Experience the annual Canajoharie-Fort Plain Drama Club's presentation of Valley Voices at 7 p.m. April 7-9 at the Arkell Performing Arts Center at Canajoharie High School. Valley Voices features one-act plays written and directed entirely by students.
This year’s lineup includes:
“Light” by Jessica Hojohn tells the story of a teenage girl and her struggle to find herself, and to realize her place within her family. The play is directed by Scott Summers with stage management by Jessica Hojohn.
“Military Wife” by Cassie White relates the trials and tribulations that a family faces when their mom is deployed to Iraq. It is directed and stage managed by Andrew Vroman.
“Before and After: In Loving Memory of Ann Kulawy,” by Jessica Hojohn is a poignant story of a young girl who grows up under her grandmother’s loving care and guidance and eventually must face her passing. This play is directed by Stephanie Terwilliger and stage managed by Andrew Vroman.
Jessica Herringshaw serves as the lighting designer/director on all three plays, while Mitchell Vandemark works as the sound manager. He is assisted by Wan Ngo.
Starring in the plays this year are: Tina Goldswer, Amber Winter, Veronica O’Brien, Matthew Soto, April Terwilliger, Rachael Takacs, Dani Raffa, Stephanie Terwilliger, Bailey Smith, Cassie White, Chris Hopler, Beth Mallett, Scott Summers, Hayla Cyr, and Jenna Sierra.
Valley Voices operates under the direction of Drama Club director Sarah Ells. Costumes and publicity are provided by Lauri Dahlin.
