Fifth grade students from Joan Kolodziej's fifth
grade class at East Hill Elementary School
l
recently worked on Chinese tangram puzzles. The puzzles, which aid
in developing spatial pattern recognition, have been used by
students for centuries.
Using various computer articles and their math text, the students used seven "tan" pieces to depict silhouettes of rabbits, horses, turtles, whales, goats, cats, rockets, candles and other objects.
