Welcome to the newly designed Canajoharie website. The Canajoharie Central School District first launched its district website in 2004 and during the past year, district leaders decided an upgrade was necessary in order to provide the community with up-to-date information in an easy-to-find format.
The district began its website redesign process in May, working with the Capital Region BOCES Communications Service to create a new website that is easy to use, comprehensive and captures the spirit of the district (the designers incorporated the recent mural into the design). The new design is visually modern, user-friendly and meets today’s industry standards for use by viewers with disabilities as well as those using multiple web browsers, such as Firefox and Safari.
The site also meets the major characteristics today’s users say they want in a website: useful and responds to their needs, easy to navigate, has quality content and is updated frequently with new information.
So what’s new about the site?
The first thing viewers will notice is a large, full-color photo on the home page which changes each time a user refreshes the page. The district home page and school home pages also feature a Google calendar with events color-coded by school. From now on, if you’re looking for the date and time of a district event, it will be listed in the calendar.
Navigation has been made simpler with the use of quick links on the district home page. That means at the bottom of the page, you’ll see links for menus, the district Facebook page, announcements and school closings. Also, the district home page and the school home pages navigation are broken down by links and resources
Another special feature is the “Share This” option found on news pages, that allow viewers to share their favorite articles via Facebook, Twitter and e-mail.
