Canajoharie tech plan public hearing set for
The Canajoharie Central School District Board of
Education will hold a public hearing on Nov. 3 regarding the
district’s proposed Smart Schools Investment Plan.
The New York State Smart Schools Bond Act was
passed in the 2014-15 state budget and approved by voters in a
statewide referendum in November 2014. Canajoharie Central School
qualifies for $1,017,758 from the Smart Schools Bond Act. This
funding can be used for instructional technology and school safety
The board of education will gather public
feedback on the plan at 6:30 p.m., Nov. 3 in the high school
auditorium. The board’s informational meeting will immediately
follow at 7 p.m. The board is scheduled to adopt the plan at its
Nov. 17 business meeting after which it will be submitted to the
state for final approval.
The Canajoharie Smart Schools Investment Plan
includes the purchase of additional portable technology for
classroom and learning use (laptop/tablet carts), the implementation
of a distance learning classroom and the addition of wireless
internet capability on school busses for student use.
