  1. Greetings
    1. Co-President, Melissa Balk, called the meeting to order at 7 pm with eleven members in attendance. The pledge was recited.
  2. Secretary’s Report
    1. The secretary’s report was read and accepted.
  3. Treasurer’s Report
    1. The updated Treasurer’s report was reviewed with updates and accepted.
  4. Fundraiser Speaker: Paul Forsey from C&H Fundraising presented his fundraising opportunities to the group. C&H Fundraising handled the last PTA fundraiser in 2002 with a profit of $18,500. Paul handles all aspects of the fundraising from helping put together catalogs through the delivery of the items to the school. Paul gave a brief overview of his business and the sequence of events for a successful fundraising event. Pay Beyer suggested showing samples from the catalogs at the Open House. A committee will need to be organized for this event.
  5. Old Business
    1. Sister to Sister Update: Melissa reviewed a request that was approved for $85 for this program, which will be sending nine girls to a conference at FMCC.
    2. SADD Prom Money Vote: A motion was given to give the SADD committee $1,000 from the Student Health Fund to support the post-prom party. The motion was accepted.
    3. Movie Night Update: The last movie night was held on March 24 in the Great Room with “Chicken Little” being shown. The movie night was a great success with more than 95 students and parents in attendance. Melissa recognized Jackie for the great job she had done organizing the movie nights throughout the year. Tara will get the popcorn needed for next year’s movie nights through the Little League.
    4. PARP Update: Melissa recognized Tara for her hard work on this program. The program was very successful and will be scheduled again for next year.
  6. New Business
    1. Power Point for Kindergarten Registration: Melissa put together a power point presentation to be continuously run on a television at the Kindergarten registration. The presentation gives an overview of what the PTA does and contact information. It was suggested that membership forms be available to parents at the registration. Any memberships received at that time will be held until the start of the 2006-2007 school year.
    2. Teacher Appreciation Day: Teacher Appreciation Day is May 9th. Tara will take care of getting the calendars to the teacher’s. Melissa will order the bagels and Tia will deliver them to the school.
    3. Enrichment Committee: The enrichment committee met April 11th at 6:30pm. There were four requests approved for a total of $359.95. There was $440 returned for the Young Writer’s conference that was not attended. Melissa will give Ellen the check to be voided. Jan will review any previously declined requests and report them to the committee members.
    4. Fundraising Committee: A discussion was had regarding who to use for help with the fall PTA fundraiser. It was decided to use C&H Fundraising and the fundraiser will take place in September. A committee needed to be organized for the fundraiser scheduled for fall. The committee members are Melissa, Bronwyn, Jan, Jackie, Tara and Tracy. The committee will meet after the April 11th PTA meeting to start planning for the fundraiser.
    5. Other Items:
