A school night program will be held on February 24, 2007 at 7:00pm at the arena. The program is “Hollywood” themed and there will be movie trivia and raffles.
  3. Secretary’s Report
    1.  Secretary, Tracy Mead, read the secretary’s report from the last meeting. Ellen Welch made a motion to accept the minutes as written with Chris Hopler seconding the motion. All were in favor.
  4. Treasurer’s Report

  5. Old Business
    1. Movie Night: The last movie night for the year was held on December 15th. Melissa thanked Jackie for all her work on the successful movie nights.
    2. Purchase of Television for Middle School: Melissa reported she had received a second estimate from LADD electronics but will need to obtain another quote for an LCD television. Melissa will also check the warranty regarding the installation of the television. After some discussion it was decided Melissa would also get a quote from Best Buy for an LCD television. This topic will be discussed at the next meeting.
    3. Box Tops: Mary Monk reported the school had received a check for $398.00 for box tops that were submitted. The next scheduled check release date for box tops will be mid May. The school website has information regarding this program.
    4. NYS Consumer Protection Board: The presentation from the NYS Consumer Protection Board on identity theft is scheduled for April 18, 2007 at 7:00 pm in the Middle School Great Room. Melissa will call Mrs. VanHeusen to confirm the use of the room.
    5. Spring Portraits: There was a discussion regarding spring portraits from Lifetouch. Tia will contact Belinda at Lifetouch to understand how the spring portrait packages are set up. Melissa will contact Cuyle to put a poll on the website to see if this is something parents would be interested in.
  6. New Business
    1. Correspondence: Melissa read thank you’s from the Reality Check group and the SADD Program for the PTA support they received.
    2. Sister to Sister Summit: Melissa received a request for a donation to the upcoming Sister to Sister summit. The previous amount donated was $85. Kathy Dopp made a motion to donate $85 to the summit with Mr. Rose seconding the motion. All were in favor.
    3. Other Requests for Funding: There were several requests for PTA support for upcoming events. After a brief discussion it was decided that two of the requests received, one from Mr. Fields and the other from Mrs. Eggleston, were enrichment committee decisions and would be discussed at the February 13th enrichment committee meeting. The other request was from Mrs. Mueller for an upcoming trip to Quebec. The request for funding was needed before the next enrichment committee meeting so after some discussion it was decided to fund this field trip. Melissa made a motion to fund $1,000 for the trip with Mr. Sincavage seconding the motion. The topic of requests being received before enrichment committee approval can be obtained will be discussed at the next meeting.
