donates $2000 to school activities

Art Jordan, Manager of the Sharon
Springs Wal-Mart Distribution Center presents Junior
Melanie DeLong and high school principal Dr. Donald
Bowden a $2,000 check to support school activities. |
Once again, Wal-Mart has stepped up
in support of our school.
On March
20, Art Jordan, the Manager of the Sharon Springs Wal-Mart
Distribution Center,
presented the students of Canajoharie High School with a
$2,000 community grant. $1500 was given to the school's chapter
of Students Against Destructive Decisions to underwrite the cost
of a Driving Under the Influence simulator to be used at this
year's Post-Prom party. The remaining funds were designated for
Junior Class activities.
Wal-Mart traditionally
supports a wide variety of educational programs and activities
in our district. Each year, they help us recognize an
outstanding teacher under their Teacher of the Year program.
Over the years, they have also generously contributed to SADD
activities including the annual Post-Prom party. Post-Prom
offers students a safe and fun night of games, entertainment,
food, and prizes—a safe alternative to other choices that too
often end in tragedy.
