Move
over Bill Nye—Meet the 5th grade science guys and girls!
What is quicksand? Why does ink run on paper?
How do airplanes fly? What are crystals? What are fossils? Can
lemon juice really "explode"? Will static electricity really
generate a spark?
East Hill students had the opportunity to
discover the answers to these questions and many more at the 5th
grade science fair held in the East Hill gym on Thursday, May
25.
Working in teams of two or three, 5th graders
presented demonstrations and displays on a wide array of topics.
Students explored the basic concepts of chemistry, biology,
geology and physics as they visited each booth. Some were messy,
some were unexpected, but they all were fun!
