Philosophy of art raise difficult questions about art and try to find answers to those questions.

The art world, which is made up of a variety of professionals, influence decisions about what is art.

Conditions for something to be called art may also apply to non-art forms.

An aesthetic responce occurs when an artwork, or an object, is seen and enjoyed for its own sake and not for its use.

Good design is logical and harmonious relationship among all the parts of an artwork.

Examples:

Students will list five conditions that affect their judgement of objects of art

Students will explain each of the conditions for an artwork they identify

Students will identify objects that may prompt an aesthetic response but that are not artwork.
