Congratulations to all those who participated in the 2017 Canajoharie Middle School Spelling Bee Wednesday, Jan. 4. Eighth grader Carolyn Phillips won first place spelling “lounge” correctly in the 15th round. She’ll head next to the Capital Region Spelling Bee later this winter. Second place honors went to sixth grader Castine Hardesty and third place went to eighth grader Tori Rocas.
The first place award was a $100 check provided by Patriot Federal Bank. The second place winner received $50 from NBT Bank and the third place winner received a $25 check from the Canajoharie PTA. Participation awards were provided by McDonald’s, Stewart’s and Subway of Palatine Bridge.
