A Letter from East Hill’s New Principal Mrs. D’Ambrosio

The New Year is around the corner, and I am excited about new beginnings in Canajoharie at East Hill Elementary.  I am looking forward to working with students, families, teachers, staff, District Administration and the community.

As I enter my twenty-second year in education, I have decided that a smaller community would be a perfect fit!  While I was in the Utica City School District, I was an Elementary Teacher for ten years, an Assistant Principal for over three years, and a Principal for eight years.  These experiences have prepared me to be a well-rounded School Leader.

I currently live in Utica with my husband, Fran, and son, Alex, who is a ninth-grader at Proctor.  During my time off, I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, reading, and my furry family members.

East Hill Elementary has been successful with Conscious Behaviors, improving the participation rate on the New York State Assessments, and student achievement.  Successful schools also have parent involvement, which is an important aspect of East Hill’s success. Your facilities are beautiful, welcoming, and state of the art, which also is something to be extremely proud of.

My goal is to continue moving East Hill Elementary forward with continued success.  I encourage parents to be partners in their child’s success at school.

I look forward to meeting everyone as my new adventure begins in 2020.

Best Wishes this Holiday Season!

Principal Mrs. D’Ambrosio
