August 6 | Update from superintendent on returning to school

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Hello, I hope everyone is enjoying their summer thus far! This letter is in regard to the 2021-22 school year.

As you may be aware the Governor and the NYS Department of Health deferred guidance to the local municipalities at this time as it relates to reopening and COVID-19. Just as we have done throughout the past 18 months, we will be working with the Montgomery County Department of Health to formulate a plan and guidance for the school year. Since the information from the state just came out yesterday, we have organized a meeting on Tuesday with the DOH and we hope to have a plan by the end of the week. As it has been for the past 18 months, everything is subject to change and it is still a very fluid situation. At this time I do expect to have full in-person instruction for the school year for grades PreK-12.

I hope you enjoy your weekend and we will be in communication soon. Thank you.

Regards,

Dr. Nick Fitzgerald
Superintendent of Schools
