I would like to take a moment to address our school family and community on a topic that is at the forefront of much of our budget planning. As you know, a large percentage of the operating budget of our school is state aid. Governor Cuomo’s current budget proposals would create serious financial problems for school districts such as ours. Current state budget proposals which could have detrimental effects include no increase in basic state funding, and a threatening new approach to state reimbursement for district expenses, such as transportation and special services. We are asking you to use the link below to reach out to your state assembly member and state senator to urge them to reject the Governor’s proposals and do everything in their power to help assure the continued ability of our school district to provide the best education possible to our students.
