The Canajoharie-Fort Plain Summer Drama Club will present Roald Dahl’s “Willy Wonka,” the stage musical on Friday, Aug. 3 and Saturday, Aug. 4 at 7 p.m. in Canajoharie High School’s Arkell Performing Arts Center.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for Senior Citizens and students.
Come with us on a journey into your imagination where candy and golden tickets and Oompa Loompas abound. Drama club veteran Vicente Nunez leads our cast as Willy Wonka. Calista Hardesty plays the sweet Charlie accompanied by her energetic Grandpa Joe, Connor Bowden. Angelo Fatta as Phineous Trout introduces the audience to each of the golden tickets winners and their parents who are played by Andan Gomez as Augustus with Sarah Bowden as Mrs. Gloop. The cast also includes Payton Landry as Veruca with Christian Jones as Mr. Salt, Tori Rocas as Violet with Rianna VanRensalaar as Mrs. Beauregarde, and Emily Palmeri as Mike Teavee with Bretton Scofield as Ms. Teavee. The rest of the Bucket family is played by Michael Barlow as Mr. Bucket, Kaylee Sanders as Mrs. Bucket, Catherine Twitchell as Grandma Georgina, Mathea Leonard as Grandma Josephine, and Connor Hill as Grandpa George. Add in our eight wonderful Oompa Loompas, fourteen of Charlie’s friends, six crew members, and a six-member pit orchestra, and you have quite a show!
