Fitness Center

Canajoharie High School houses a state-of-the-art fitness center that was upgraded in August 2016. Thanks to the generous support of the Arkell Hall Foundation, this facility is open to the public.

Under the management of Kim Hayes, the center offers the best paramount circuit training equipment in the area, free weights, cardiovascular equipment and a variety of specialty classes (including yoga, aerobics, water aerobics and karate).

Memberships, Fees

Canajoharie Central School District Students (grades 7-12) are free of charge. Specialty classes are an additional fee. The fees for the public are:

Day pass: $6/individual, $8/family

Month pass: $23/district resident, $30/non-resident

Six-month pass: $118/district resident, $165/non-resident. Each additional member $75

Year pass: $195/district resident, $265/non-resident. Each additional member $100

Classes/offers available

  • All classes $3 unless noted or a Fitness Center Member
  •  Aerobics (Debbie Bruschetti) Tired of no energy? Try our aerobics classes! Classes are every Monday and Wednesday, 6-7 p.m. Cost is $4 per class or buy a card for 8 classes/$24 or 12 classes/$36.
  • Spartacus (Kim Hayes) High-Intensity Interval Training (H.I.T. principle) is offered Tuesday nights from 6-7 p.m.
  • Body fat and blood pressure readings available to new members. Fitness is not simply a measurement of your weight! Body fat and blood pressure readings are available to all new members who sign up for one-, six- or 12-month memberships.
  • Monday – Functioning Fitness(Kim Hayes)
    Level – Novice
    6 p.m.-7 p.m.
    Class includes exercises that train your muscles to work together and prepare them for daily tasks. Using various muscles in the upper and lower body at the same time. Emphasizing CORE.
  • Tuesday – Athletic Conditioning (Kim Hayes)
    Level – Proficient/Master
    6 p.m. – 7 p.m.
    Class includes exercises that will tone, strengthen and condition yourself on your “OFF” days from running. This class targets athletes who need to include high-intensity interval training. Please bring a water bottle and towel to wipe off the sweat.
  • Wednesday- Functioning Fitness (Kim Hayes)
    Level – Novice
    5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
    Class includes exercises that train your muscles to work together and prepare them for daily tasks. Using various muscles in the upper and lower body at the same time. Emphasizing CORE.
  • Thursday – Cardio/toning (Kim Hayes)
    Level – Proficient
    6 p.m. – 7 p.m.
    Class includes warming up by running stadium stairs/ hills/ around the school….. switching gears to include all body weight training using 10% of your body weight. Then, some more cardio because everyone loves that.
  • Saturday – Circuit Training (Kim Hayes)
    Level- Novice, Proficient & Master (you decide your level)
    8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
    These circuits are one-minute intervals. The circuit is marked with the exercise and you perform the exercise to the best of your ability.
  • Saturday – Fit W/ Kim (Kim Hayes)
    Level: Novice
    10 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.
    Class starts with warming up, stretching, some cardio using steps. (your chair is provided for support) then we move to bands and weights. Great beginner class
