District qualifies as NYSPHSAA School of Excellence

Canajoharie Central School District has qualified as a NYSPHSAA School of Excellence, as 18 of the district’s 20 varsity teams earned Scholar-Athlete recognition this year.

This designation was made possible after all four of Canajoharie’s spring varsity teams were recognized as Scholar-Athlete teams, which means that 75 percent of each roster had an average GPA of 90 or higher:

  • Girls Track – 94.97

  • Boys Track – 92.77

  • Baseball – 92.01

  • Softball – 90.87

“Congratulations to all of our student-athletes, coaches, faculty and staff who played a role in achieving this honor!” Canajoharie Athletics Director Brian Dunn said. “What a fantastic way to wrap up another successful school year for Canjo Athletics!”

“We are very proud of all of our sports teams for their performances both in the classroom and on the field,” Superintendent of Schools Deborah Grimshaw said. “The fact that nearly every varsity team was recognized as a Scholar-Athlete team speaks volumes about the dedicated students, coaches and faculty we have here at Canajoharie.”
