A history podcast called, “The Missing Chapter: History’s Forgotten Stories,” created by Canajoharie High School teachers Philip Horender and Philip Schoff, earned recognition from the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) this week.
NYSSBA presented the district with a banner as part of its “Champions of Change” program.
“It has come to our attention that there is a creative program in your school district that deserves recognition — The Missing Chapter: History’s Forgotten Stories Podcast — and we would like to pay tribute to those who make it possible,” NYSSBA executive director Robert S. Schneider wrote in a letter.
“We understand there are many incredibly meritorious programs and projects throughout the state, and NYSSBA is celebrating yours!”
The two teachers created the podcast as a way to stay connected with their students as they learned remotely during the pandemic.
