Swim Classes During PE at East Hill

As we welcome back students for the second half of the year we are excited to start swimming classes during Physical Education in East Hill! This year, swimming will look a little different. Here are some adjustments to the regular routines that we have made to make sure swimming is a safe and fun experience for everyone!

General Guidelines:

  • PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN SUIT AND TOWEL, THIS IS MAKE SURE STAFF ARE NOT HANDLING SUITS AND TOWELS THAT HAVE BEEN USED
  • Masks are worn at all times EXCEPT for when students are in the water (social distancing will be used while in the water)
  • Benches in pool area and locker rooms will be disinfected between every class
  • Social distancing of 6 feet or more will be used AT ALL TIMES
  • Hands will be washed or sanitized before and after class
  • Extra masks and sanitizer will be provided if students need to use them

Locker Rooms:

  • There will be NO use of the lockers, each student will have their own space to change and place their personal belongings
  • Distancing markers are placed on the benches for students to keep 6 feet of space
  • Students will not use the showers

Pool Area:

  • Students will sit on a marker on the bleachers in the beginning of class
    • This marker will also be used for students to keep their mask when they are in the water
  • The sides of the pool have marks every 6 feet as a reference for students on the deck or in the water of their distancing
  • Students will be asked to move into the water and locker rooms in small groups to avoid crowding
