Dear Community Members,
Hello, I hope everyone is enjoying the fall and the amazing weather we are having! The following is a follow up to the August letter that was sent out regarding our next Capital Building Project.
We have finalized the scope for the project and will be hosting workshops on the following dates to review the details and give people a chance to ask any questions.
Virtual: Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. - meet.google.com/vmt-cinh-znh or phone in at 1-470-207-8619 - PIN: 803536850$
In Person: Nov. 13 at 5:30 p.m. at High School
The project will mostly be maintenance items; As you know our high school and transportation facility are now a quarter century old and our MS/East Hill complex is over 70 years old. Since debt has fallen off from the original high school and transportation facility, we can now maximize what the state allows us to use for a cost allowance and receive 91% aid back on the project. We will be sending a newsletter out by the end of October detailing the entire project and again have workshops to review everything. We will also have displays located at each building entrance area.
We want to ensure our facilities and buildings are maintained and are in excellent working condition not only for our students, faculty and staff but our community as well. As you know we are a community based school district where many people use our gymnasiums, classrooms, pool, fields, auditorium, fitness center and cafeterias and it is great to know we have the facilities for that purpose.
The Capital Project vote will be Dec. 4 from noon to 8 p.m. and it will be a tax neutral project with no increase to the tax levy due to the capital reserve we have and the 91% aid.
As with anything, please feel free to reach out via email or phone if you have any questions!
Sincerely,
Dr. Nick Fitzgerald
Superintendent of Schools
