Starting March 20, petitions to run for the Canajoharie Central School District Board of Education will be available. There is one seat open to succeed Patricia Prime, with a term from July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2031. Completed petitions must be submitted to the District Clerk by April 20 at 5 p.m.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Be a qualified voter of the district (registration not required)

  • Be a resident of the district for at least one year continuously prior to the election

  • Cannot reside with another member of the school board as a member of the same family

  • Cannot be a current employee of the district

  • Cannot simultaneously hold another incompatible office (e.g., Town Supervisor, District Attorney in the school district)

  • Must fulfill mandatory training within the first year of service
