Dear Canajoharie Central School District Community,
I hope this message finds you well. As we look forward to another exciting school year filled with athletic events, extracurricular activities, and community gatherings, I am writing to share a few important updates and safety guidelines regarding school district grounds and events.
Our top priorities are always the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and visitors, as well as maintaining clean, safe, and enjoyable facilities for our entire community. To help us achieve these goals, please review the following policy updates and reminders:
Student Attendance and Supervision at Evening Athletic Events: Just a reminder from last year, all students in 8th grade and below must be accompanied by an adult (parent, guardian, or designated adult supervisor) to attend any evening contests on school grounds. This includes all night events, such as home basketball games and wrestling matches. This requirement is in place to ensure proper supervision, safety, and a positive, orderly environment for all spectators and student-athletes. Unaccompanied students in 8th grade or below will not be admitted.
Pets on School Grounds: We know how much our community members enjoy spending time on our campus with their pets. You are still welcome to walk your dogs through the campus, when school is not in session during the day, using designated sidewalks and walkways. However, dogs are strictly prohibited from all athletic and playing fields. Unfortunately, animal droppings left on the fields pose health and sanitation concerns for our physical education classes and athletic teams. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our athletic fields clean and safe for our athletes.
Golfing Prohibited on Campus: Please be reminded that golfing is not permitted anywhere on school grounds. Recently, we have found golf balls scattered across our playing fields, which creates significant safety hazards for students during practices and games, as well as potential damage to our maintenance equipment.
